Tax
Each year we aim to use your Capital Gains Tax (CGT) allowance and attempt not to incur any additional CGT. In some instances CGT is unavoidable – although there is the benefit of a realised capital gain. Both pension funds and ISA accounts are free of CGT and have no tax considerations in managing the portfolios.
Dividend income from equities is taxed at source (10% withholding tax). For a basic rate tax-payer there is no additional tax to pay, and for a higher rate 40% tax-payer there is only 22.5% of additional tax liability. We will produce an annual statement of your capital gain, income and withholding tax.
